Parking Meters
The City of Minneapolis operates 6800 parking meters located throughout the city. These meters all have different time restrictions and rates. Time restrictions and rates are posted on each individual meter. Street signs also posted for each block. Please note that rates and restrictions can vary on different sides of the street.
Meters can be used in two different ways. The conventional method is inserting coins into the meter. Our meters accept US quarters and both Susan B. Anthony and Sacajawea dollar coins. Do not use other denominations, as it will not count toward additional time on the meter. The other method of payment is with a Credit Card, which is an excellent alternative to carrying coins.
